At Qudus Relief and Development Organization (QURDO), we believe in the power of sustainable development to transform communities. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to empower the most vulnerable populations in southern Somalia through humanitarian assistance, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. Through our programs, we focus on creating lasting change that enables communities to thrive, not just survive.

Our Key Focus Areas

WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
One of the foundational pillars of our work is ensuring access to clean water and improved sanitation. In many communities in southern Somalia, access to safe drinking water is scarce, leading to health challenges such as waterborne diseases. Through our WASH programs, we are installing clean water sources, teaching hygiene practices, and improving sanitation facilities to prevent the spread of illness and improve overall community health.

Education
Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, which is why we are committed to making quality education accessible to all. Our education programs work to improve school infrastructure, provide learning materials, and ensure that children, especially girls, have the opportunity to attend school. By promoting inclusive education, we aim to equip the next generation with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Health & Nutrition
Good health is the foundation for any thriving community. Our health and nutrition programs focus on improving access to healthcare services, especially for women and children. We provide health education, distribute nutritional supplements, and work to increase awareness around maternal and child health. By addressing malnutrition and improving healthcare access, we are helping families lead healthier lives.

Child Protection
Children are the future, and protecting them from harm is our responsibility. Our child protection initiatives ensure that children are safeguarded from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Through community awareness campaigns, safe spaces, and advocacy, we strive to create an environment where children can grow, learn, and develop in safety.

Agriculture & Livelihood
In many rural communities, agriculture is the backbone of the economy. By promoting sustainable agricultural practices, we are improving food security and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers. Our agriculture and livelihood programs provide training, seeds, and tools to help farmers increase their productivity and income, while also supporting local markets and economies.

Emergency Relief
During times of crisis, QURDO is there to provide rapid emergency relief. Whether it’s due to natural disasters, conflict, or economic hardship, we deliver food, shelter, medical support, and other essential services to ensure the survival and well-being of affected communities. Our emergency response teams work quickly and effectively to provide immediate relief and help communities recover and rebuild.

Our Impact So Far

Since our inception, QURDO has made a significant impact in the lives of thousands of people. With over 65,000 beneficiaries served and more than 15 completed projects, we are proud of the difference we have made. However, our work is far from over, and we remain committed to expanding our reach and improving the lives of even more vulnerable communities in southern Somalia.
